Christie George
Christie George is a writer, investor and producer who has been working at the intersection of media, technology and social change for more than 20 years. She is the former president of New Media Ventures, where she oversaw investment into more than 80 progressive startups. She currently advises foundations and family offices on impact investing and narrative change.
In her creative practice, she is interested in time, memory and archives, particularly work that explores and expands the idea of collective authorship. Her work has been included in Southern Exposure's Annual Juried Show This Will Never Work and the This Is What I Want festival; and she produced the award-winning documentary feature Hunting in Wartime (PBS) and the documentary short Confessions of a Jumbotron Addict (Tribeca). Her most recent project is The Emergency Was Curiosity, an illustrated book report, exhibition and event series focused on cultivating individual and collective creative attention.
Christie is a proud board member of the Indivisible Project. She holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA with distinction from the University of Oxford where she was a Skoll Scholar and won the Said Prize.
