Rachel Herring
Rachel Herring (she/her) is a medium agnostic designer, educator, writer, and facilitator creating work at the intersection of techno-critique, design ethics, and participatory research. Her background as an art director in Manhattan’s beauty industry informs her desire to interrogate design ethics and ensure a product is created with the people it is designed for.
She is the author of the Cellular Balance Workbook: Redesign Your Smartphone and Reclaim Your Time, which was informed by collaborative workshops. She is interested in how the rapid pace of technology, intertwined with the aestheticization of society, shapes human perception of time, space, and sociopolitical dynamics.
