li·tur·gies (n., pl.) 1. From the Greek leitourgia, “work of the people”: Public services undertaken on behalf of the city. 2. Prescribed forms of collective ritual or worship. 3. Any repeated acts through which a community makes and remakes what it believes.
li·tur·gies is an exhibition-of-exhibitions, posed as a question: If the gallery is a temple, what are its rituals—and how do we perform them? Exhibitions enact a language of patterns, repeated so often we stop seeing them. The duration of an exhibition, event, performance, gathering. Opening hours. The hanging of artworks on walls. Walls, themselves. What happens when we break open an exhibition’s expected time and space, observe these variables, and let something breathe in through the gaps? Over a couple of months, one exhibition-within-the-exhibition after another, let’s seek it together.
Opening hours (Note: The Hours vary depending on day)
